Derwin James Jr. avoids suspension following concussion-causing hit on Colts receiver

News quickly spread that Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James Jr. could face ejection for a violent hit on Indianapolis Colts receiver Ashton Dulin that left both players in the concussion protocol

During the game, James made contact with Dulin's head and neck using the crown of his helmet after Dulin caught a short pass. The hit left both players in the concussion protocol

: "I haven't seen a collision that big in a long time," Aikman said.

After suffering a hit, Dulin went to the locker room and was later diagnosed with a concussion.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, James is not expected to be suspended for his hit on Dulin, but he may receive a fine from the NFL for his aggressive behavior
